SHAH ALAM: Four Perikatan Nasional Mentri Besar discussed their effective and fair management of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Perlis.

The four MBs in question are Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Shukri Ramli, Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, and Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

During an after-event at the 69th muktamar on its first day, the MBs addressed a crowd that had gathered despite the muddy field. The speeches, concluding late that night, took place in front of the IDCC Convention Centre on Friday (Oct 20).

Mohd Shukri, the Perlis MB, expressed how he successfully won over the civil servants of Perlis through dialogues.

“We managed to secure 14 seats in a state that was always reliant on the Federal Government due to a lack of funds,” stated Mohd Shukri.

“Despite facing threats of funding cuts, we persevered, and now we have enough rice to feed our state.

“Even though Barisan Nasional had governed the state for nearly 70 years, we have managed to gain the support of the people on our first attempt at running the state,” added Mohd Shukri.

Ahmad Samsuri, representing the state government of Terengganu as their spokesman, emphasized the need for the Federal Government to prioritize effectively.

“When we take over a state, it’s like entering a beautifully painted house only to find that it lacks everything,” said Ahmad Samsuri.

“We must prioritize what is truly essential. As a state government, our budget is limited, so we need to balance the needs of the people and determine what can be postponed.

“However, the Federal Government seems more preoccupied with the problems and distractions brought about by their travel-happy leaders. Ultimately, it’s the people who suffer,” concluded Ahmad Samsuri.
