PETALING JAYA: The father of Nadia Fasha Qistina, a 19-year-old who was brutally attacked with acid, is grappling with the question “Why?” two months after the horrific incident.
Azman Shah Mohammad spent all his savings on his daughter’s treatment and corrective surgeries, but is still haunted by the reason behind the attack, as reported by Sinar Harian.
Nadia has been receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital for nearly two months and has undergone eight surgeries to repair skin tissue and save her eyes. Azman revealed that the family has spent RM32,000 on eight pieces of skin tissue to save Nadia’s life.
The father said that Nadia may have to remain in the hospital for a year and rely on medication for the rest of her life.
Nadia, who was attacked while returning from work in Denai Alam on Nov 8, had only been working at a clinic for six days when she was splashed with acid by a man posing as an e-hailing driver.
Azman, who sold burgers for a living, shared that the attack had also caused his wife to fall ill and experience panic attacks, resulting in her undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
He expressed his confusion and grief over the gruesome assault on his daughter, saying, “She has always been a good child who listens. I just can’t understand why someone would treat Nadia like this.”
The father urged the police to apprehend the perpetrator soon and revealed that the suspect was hired by someone. He also shared his RHB bank account number for those who wish to help.
Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed the incident and said that investigations were underway.
