SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional’s Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid, wife of former Negri Sembilan mentri besar Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, returns to active politics after 15 years. She will contest against Perikatan Nasional’s Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith in Barisan’s stronghold of Juasseh.
Despite her absence, Bibi Sharliza has remained connected with Juasseh constituents, having served as Wanita chairman in Kuala Pilah and worked with NGOs in the area. In the 2018 General Election, Barisan’s Datuk Ismail Lasim secured the seat.
Bibi Sharliza, now the state Wanita Umno chief, emphasizes her familiarity with the constituents and aims for a clean campaign without personal attacks. She distances herself from her husband’s corruption case and focuses on her achievements and future plans for Juasseh’s people.
Her priorities include empowering young people and women, developing traditional kampung areas as tourist attractions, and improving the overall well-being of the constituency.
