Emphasizing the importance of upholding international law, Malaysia called on all parties involved to respect diplomatic premises as unviolable spaces.
In a statement released on Tuesday (April 2), the ministry highlighted the urgent necessity for dialogue and de-escalation in the region in light of the incident.
Offering condolences and sympathies to the victims and their families, Malaysia urged for a comprehensive investigation into the attack.
Reports confirmed that suspected Israeli warplanes carried out the bombing on Iran’s embassy in Damascus on Monday (April 1), resulting in the deaths of seven military advisors from Iran, including three high-ranking commanders.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran disclosed that one of the deceased was Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in the Quds Force, an elite foreign espionage and paramilitary unit.
