GUA MUSANG: The woman who was crushed by logs that fell off a lorry here has been sedated after receiving initial treatment at the Gua Musang Hospital.
The victim’s brother, Mohamad Azwa Kamarulzaman, 28, said his sister, Siti Norelyana, 21, has been transferred to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital, Kota Baru, and is under close observation.
He said she would undergo surgeries to her spine, hip, ribs, liver, spleen, lungs and gallbladder.
“My sister also fractured her hip bone.
“She was sedated at around 6pm on Tuesday (July 9). Doctors are treating the injuries to her intestines and she might face complications,” he told Bernama on Wednesday (July 10).
Mohamad Azwa said that his sister, although sedated, showed positive response in her legs and hands.
“She is fighting for her life. Her spirit is very strong. I am grateful to the public for their prayers and hope everyone continues to pray for her so that she can recover quickly,” he said.
Mohamad Azwa also said Siti Norelyana was supposed to get married in December this year.
On Tuesday, Siti Norelyana, who was riding a motorcycle, was crushed by several logs that fell off a lorry while she was waiting at the Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai traffic light junction. – Bernama
