    Woman driving against traffic hit a car in Penang, both drivers injured

    GEORGE TOWN: An incident occurred on Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway when a woman driving against the flow of traffic collided with another vehicle.

    The woman sustained chest injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital, while the male driver of the other car suffered abdomen injuries and has been sent to Penang Hospital.

    Asst Comm Soffian Santong, George Town OCPD, stated that the incident took place at 12:30 AM on Monday, October 2. The woman was driving towards the Penang Bridge from the city center and collided with the car driven by the man, who was heading to Taman Kristal in Mount Erskine.

    As of now, police have not yet obtained statements from both drivers.

    The case is being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

    Witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident are urged to contact George Town traffic enforcement investigating officer Insp Mohd Azli Khairil Mat Lazin at 019-594 6806 or any police station.
