In September, the MRT Women’s Coach was introduced on the MRT Kajang line with the goal of reducing complaints of sexual harassment, according to Anthony Loke, the Transport Minister.
Loke stated that the main objective of the pilot project was to enhance the comfort and safety of female passengers while also preventing them from falling victim to sexual harassment.
He made these comments at the launch of the Women’s Coach pilot project for the MRT Kajang Line at the Bandar Tun Hussien Onn MRT Station in Cheras.
Loke disclosed that since the launch in September, complaints of sexual harassment have decreased. In the first quarter of this year, there were eight cases, but by the fourth quarter, there were only three cases, despite the increase in the number of passengers.
As a result, he declared that the pilot project will be expanded to include the Putrajaya line. – Bernama
