With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of movement control orders, I was introduced to the concepts of online shopping, digital wallets, and food delivery platforms.

Before these circumstances, these terms were unfamiliar to me, but they quickly became essential in adapting to the new normal of cashless transactions.

The Covid-19 pandemic prompted a significant shift towards online shopping. People began relying more on e-commerce platforms to purchase essential items, groceries, and even non-essential goods, as physical stores faced restrictions and closures.

In addition to online shopping, digital wallets gained popularity during this time. These virtual wallets allowed individuals to securely store their payment information and make contactless transactions for various services and purchases.

The convenience and safety offered by digital wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet, appealed to many consumers who sought to minimize physical contact and reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Furthermore, food delivery platforms experienced a surge in demand as people were encouraged to stay at home. Services like GrabFood and Foodpanda provided a solution for individuals who wanted to enjoy their favorite meals from the comfort of their own homes.

As restaurants and eateries faced dining capacity restrictions, the ability to order food online and have it delivered became essential in filling the void of dining out.

Overall, the Covid-19 movement control order accelerated the adoption of online shopping, digital wallets, and food delivery platforms as people sought alternative ways to meet their needs and preferences.

These changes have not only transformed the way we make transactions but also reshaped our relationship with technology and the digital world.
