KUALA LUMPUR: The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Adam Adli Abd Halim, announced that the ministry has implemented 22 reforms in the past nine months to drive sports development. This achievement occurred three months before the unity government’s one-year anniversary. The reforms are focused on four main aspects: strengthening the sports ecosystem; cultivating sports; empowering youth; and popularising ministry facilities.
Adam Adli also highlighted the transformation of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, which was previously more exclusive but is now widely used at the school level. He made these comments during an appearance on RTM’s Naratif Khas programme on TV1 on Wednesday (Dec 6) in conjunction with the “One Year with the Madani Government” programme.
According to Adam Adli, one of the key initiatives to empower youth was the rejuvenation of the Rakan Muda programme in June. Additionally, the introduction of the Rukun Negara in Schools programme was aimed at promoting political literacy among young people. He emphasized that this programme provides a space outside the classroom for youths to engage with ideas that may not be covered in school subjects.
Adam Adli also mentioned the ongoing study on youth acceptance of the Rakan Muda programme, which is set to be completed by mid-2024, as stated in the Dewan Negara.
