KUALA LUMPUR: Muhammed Yusoff Rawther, a former research assistant of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has arrived at the court complex here on Thursday (Sept 12) to face criminal charges over alleged possession of a firearm and drugs.

Wearing a dark blue T-shirt with his hair unkempt, Muhammad Yusoff was escorted into the courthouse under heavy police security.

He was arrested last week after police found a pistol and ganja in a car he was travelling in.

He is expected to be charged at a Magistrate’s Court under the Arms Act and Dangerous Drugs Act.

Muhammad Yusoff is represented by lawyer Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali.
