    Zayn Rayyan murder: Cops take more DNA samples from apartment residents

    Police in Petaling Jaya have continued to gather samples from more residents at Idaman Apartment in relation to the investigation of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s death. Investigators were observed entering Block R of the apartment compound at approximately 8pm on Tuesday, December 12th. Upon leaving the area at around 10:30pm, they were seen carrying two boxes with them.

    Petaling Jaya Chief of Police Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid has indicated that police will be meeting with residents on the night of Wednesday, December 13th to provide them with the latest updates on the situation. According to him, “We are meeting with residents to share the latest on the situation.”

    Reports have revealed that dashcam footage from vehicles parked near the area where Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s body was discovered is currently being closely examined. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan had mentioned that some movement was detected in the footage.

    Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, a six-year-old autistic boy, was found deceased on December 6th, about 34 hours after it was reported that he had gone missing. His body was located in a river near his residence at around 10pm. Based on the findings of a post-mortem examination, the police have stated that his death is believed to have been the result of a homicide.
