Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay stated that even though there are no new leads, the police are continuing to investigate the murder of six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.

He emphasized that the investigation has not been stopped and will never be halted. “We are still investigating the case and we have never stopped. If there are any new developments that can be shared with the public, we will do so,” he told a press conference at Bukit Aman on Monday (Jan 8).

Zayn Rayyan’s body was found dead about 34 hours after his reported disappearance. His body was discovered on Dec 6 in a river near his home at the Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai at about 10pm.

Police have recorded the statements of 172 individuals, including Zayn Rayyan’s parents and Idaman Apartment residents. DNA samples were also taken from the residents of Idaman Apartment.
