There was no evidence of abuse found on the body of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, as confirmed by the police. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan (pic) stated that the post-mortem examination indicated no signs of old injuries on the body. “The parents of this child have taken good care of him. Speculations that he was abused are incorrect. The public is advised not to make baseless statements that could disrupt the police investigation and the family’s sensitivity,” he told reporters on Friday night (Dec 08).
According to the police chief, several items have been sent to the laboratory for analysis. Additionally, fingerprint results and DNA testing results are expected to take two to three days to be completed. “I assure you that the police will do their level best until the suspect is caught and brought to justice,” Comm Hussein added.
Zayn Rayyan, a six-year-old autistic boy, was found dead around 34 hours after being reported missing. His body was discovered in a river near his home at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai at around 10pm on Dec 6. The CID director, Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, revealed in a press conference that the post-mortem examination showed that the victim suffered injuries consistent with strangulation (compression to the neck) as well as other injuries believed to be defensive wounds. He also stated that the examination indicated the victim likely died within 48 hours of the body being discovered.
