Honda Malaysia launched the highly anticipated 2023 Honda WR-V, a B-segment SUV, today. It has been four months since the announcement of its release in our market. The WR-V is available in four different variants, similar to the City sedan/hatchback lineup. The base variant, the 1.5L S, starts at RM89,900, followed by the 1.5L E at RM95,900, the 1.5L V at RM99,900, and the range-topping 1.5L RS at RM107,900. All prices are on-the-road, without insurance.

Like its counterparts in Indonesia and Thailand, all WR-V variants in Malaysia are equipped with a powerful L15ZF 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated DOHC i-VTEC engine, delivering 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and a torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT transmission. In terms of size, the WR-V competes directly with the Perodua Ativa, measuring 4,060 mm long, 1,780 mm wide, and 1,608 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,485 mm and offers a ground clearance of 207 mm, slightly higher than the Ativa’s 200 mm.

Visually, the WR-V stands out with its vibrant and sporty appearance. It features a chrome chequered front grille and two-tone 17-inch wheels, giving it a bold and stylish look. However, unlike the Thai version, the Malaysian-spec RS variant does not have a black roof option. The WR-V’s interior is inspired by the second-gen Amaze and second-gen BR-V, offering a comfortable and functional cabin. It comes with a seven-inch Digital Audio touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, LaneWatch side camera system, two front USB ports, a multi-angle reverse camera, power retractable door mirrors, and two rear parking sensors.

Safety-wise, the WR-V comes with four airbags (six airbags in the RS variant), rear ISOFIX child seat anchors, vehicle stability control, ABS with EBD and brake assist, and hill start assist. From the E variant onwards, it is equipped with the Honda Sensing ADAS package, including features such as adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist system, and auto high beam.

The WR-V is available in five exterior colors: Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Stellar Diamond Pearl, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. Customers can also opt for a Modulo bodykit package or choose from several accessory packages.
