Less than a week after unveiling a series of enticing photos to promote his upcoming single “Seven,” Jung Kook has announced that Grammy-nominated rap star Latto will be featured on the track. The BTS member revealed this news through the release of the first official teaser for the “Seven” music video, even though Latto does not appear in the teaser. However, her name is included in the video title.

This collaboration between Jung Kook and Latto marks their first-ever collaboration. Latto took to Twitter when the news of their collaboration broke and tweeted, “S/O to the Army,” along with three “7” emojis, symbolizing the song’s title and her own jackpot reference. This announcement adds to the successful year Latto has been having. Her single “Put It On Da Floor Again,” featuring Cardi B, reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, and she recently won the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 2023 BET Awards.

The music video teaser for “Seven” features Han So-hee as Jung Kook’s on-screen girlfriend. In the teaser, they engage in a heated argument while dining at a fancy restaurant, and a chandelier unexpectedly falls from the ceiling, causing a disruption among the other patrons. Despite the chaos, Jung Kook and Han So-hee remain locked in their intense argument. Over sultry guitar licks, Jung Kook’s vocals can be heard singing, “Weight of the world on your shoulders, I catch your waist and ease your mind.”

“Seven” is set to be released on July 14, coinciding with Jung Kook’s performance at Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on the same day. This will be Jung Kook’s latest solo release since his song “Dreamers,” which was featured on the 2022 FIFA World Cup soundtrack and reached No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart.
