Newcastle and Aston Villa played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Premier League Summer Series. The match saw Harvey Barnes make his debut for Newcastle, just hours after signing for Eddie Howe’s side.

Villa’s newest recruit, Moussa Diaby, who is also the club’s record signing, watched from the stands as his new team took on Newcastle at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Villa took the lead in the seventh minute when Emi Buendia beat Sandro Tonali and set up Ollie Watkins for the opening goal. They quickly doubled their advantage, with Buendia scoring himself after a series of stepovers.

Newcastle pulled one back before the half-hour mark, as Elliott Anderson coolly finished after being put through on goal. The first half ended with Alexander Isak equalizing for Newcastle in added time.

Buendia put Villa back in the lead early in the second half, but that lead was short-lived as Callum Wilson scored to secure a draw for Newcastle. Harvey Barnes, who recently joined Newcastle from Leicester, made an appearance in the final 20 minutes of the match.
