KUALA LUMPUR – Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil announced that the Allo’s Rahmah Fixed Broadband Package, part of the Rahmah Package initiative, will offer a fixed broadband subscription price of RM69 for a 24-month contract. The plan includes unlimited data throughout the contract period, saving subscribers RM30 compared to the normal package costing RM99. The plan, with a speed of 100 Mbps, is available to Malaysians from targeted groups such as B40, senior citizens, armed forces personnel, police officers, maritime enforcement agency personnel, and persons with disabilities. The package is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Communications and Digital, Allo Technology Sdn Bhd, and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
The package covers both urban and rural areas, specifically public housing areas in Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Perak, Penang, and Kedah that fall within Allo’s coverage area. Minister Fahmi described the package as a compassionate gesture to assist the targeted groups and contribute to building a more sustainable nation. He emphasized the importance of the internet as a basic utility and a platform for job opportunities and digital businesses. The government aims to provide affordable internet services through the Rahmah Package initiative, in line with the goal of reducing the cost of living and ensuring comprehensive digital connectivity for all segments of society.
Minister Fahmi also mentioned that all Unity Package initiatives have been rebranded as the Rahmah Package, commemorating the late Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub’s contributions. This rebranding aligns with the Cabinet’s recent decision to make ‘Rahmah’ a national initiative for the B40 group.
