The Kylian Mbappe exit saga is quickly picking up pace, as it looks like the Frenchman is set to leave the club this summer. His current deal runs until the summer of 2024 and it has emerged that he does not want to sign a contract extension. On the other hand, PSG have made their stance clear as well. And what does it all mean for Real Madrid?
PSG want Mbappe to either extend his contract or leave the club in this summer window. With just a year left on his deal, it is the Frenchman who holds most of the cards right now though.
It will be interesting to see what Mbappe decides to do, but PSG have left him out of their pre-season tour. On the other hand, it looks like a world record bid has been submitted for the Frenchman.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Al-Hilal have submitted a formal bid to PSG in order to open talks for Mbappe. It is understood to be worth €300 million, a record fee.
Real Madrid transfer blow as €300 million bid made to PSG for Mbappe
It seems almost unimaginable for Mbappe to end up out of European football at the age of 24. But at the same time, nothing should be ruled out, especially when rumours suggest that Al-Hilal might be ready to offer him a world record salary as well.
There have also been suggestions that Al-Hilal might be ready to let Mbappe leave in the summer of 2024, if Real Madrid come in for him. Thus, such a move might make a lot of sense for all parties involved.
Let’s see what Mbappe decides to do. Real Madrid have appeared to be the favourites to sign him throughout this time. But as we all know, things can change very quickly in football. Will the French World Cup winner join Al-Hilal this summer? Only time shall tell.
