The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga has taken another twist and it is the most unexpected one till now. It looks like Al-Hilal have submitted a €300 million transfer bid to PSG for the French World Cup winner. Such a move would shatter the world record. Is the Frenchman willing to leave Europe at the age of 24 though?
Until now, Real Madrid have looked like the most likely destination for Mbappe, if he was to leave PSG this summer. Unlike in the past, the French club actually want him to depart this time around, as his current deal runs out a year later. They are not keen to see him walk out as a free agent and miss out on a significant transfer fee as a result.
The Al-Hilal bid makes things very interesting though. There are also rumours that they are ready to offer Mbappe a world record salary.
Ultimately, the majority of the cards are in the hands of Mbappe right now. And it looks like he has a clear path in mind.
Mbappe makes Real Madrid decision amid €300 million offer
While speaking on ESPN FC, Julien Laurens said that the only club that Mbappe would want to join if he was to leave PSG is Real Madrid. It is not Al-Hilal, or anywhere else in Europe.
That is great news for Real Madrid without doubt. And that solidifies them as the frontrunners in the race to sign Mbappe.
Now, it remains to be seen whether they would make a move for Mbappe this summer or try to wait another year in hopes of signing him as a free agent. The player finds himself in a difficult position at PSG, as he has been left out of their pre-season tour and there are rumours that he won’t be training with the first-team anymore.
