Manchester United will reveal their decision on Mason Greenwood’s future with the club before their first season game on August 14th. This announcement will clarify whether Greenwood will continue playing for United or if he will leave the team.
Since January 22nd, 2022, the 21-year-old forward has not played for United. His last appearance was in a 1-0 victory against West Ham at Old Trafford. This absence is due to his arrest in that same month. In October of the same year, Greenwood faced charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, as well as assault causing actual bodily harm. However, in February, the charges were dropped.

During this time, Manchester United has conducted an internal investigation and held discussions with all relevant parties and stakeholders. The club anticipates making a decision about Greenwood’s future within the next two weeks, just before their home game against Wolves.
