Borussia Dortmund will face Manchester United in a friendly match at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday. The game will kick off at 3am CEST, or 6pm on Sunday local time.

Jadon Sancho, who had a successful spell at Dortmund before moving to Manchester United in 2021, will be reunited with his former team. During his time at Dortmund, Sancho scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in all competitions. He helped the team win the DFL Supercup in 2019 and the DFB Pokal in 2021. Despite Sancho’s departure, Dortmund has continued to be a strong attacking force, with only Bayern Munich scoring more goals last season.

Dortmund has been performing well in pre-season, recently defeating San Diego Loyal 6-0. Youssoufa Moukoko and Julien Duranville were among the goals in that match, but they may be rested for the game against Manchester United. Edin Terzic, Dortmund’s coach, is likely to start with Sebastien Haller and Donyell Malen in the front three. Marcel Sabitzer, who recently joined Dortmund from Bayern Munich via a loan spell at Manchester United, could make his unofficial debut. Midfielder Emre Can will lead the team as the captain.

While Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga last season, Manchester United ended third in the Premier League under coach Erik ten Hag. Sabitzer played a role in helping Manchester United achieve that position with 11 appearances. However, his place in the team has now been taken by Mason Mount from Chelsea. In pre-season, Manchester United has secured victories against Lyon and Arsenal but suffered consecutive defeats against Wrexham and Real Madrid. Sancho may return to the starting line-up for the match against Dortmund.

Some key match stats include Dortmund winning all four of their pre-season friendlies, scoring 18 goals and conceding only 3. Former Dortmund captain Marco Reus has been their top scorer in pre-season with four goals. Julian Brandt was Dortmund’s most productive attacking player last season, with nine goals and eight assists from midfield. Sancho achieved an impressive record of 38 goals and 51 assists in four seasons at Dortmund before his move to Manchester United. Dortmund and Manchester United last met competitively in the semi-finals of the 1996/97 UEFA Champions League.

The probable teams for the match are:

    – Manchester United: Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Mount, Casemiro, Sancho, Fernandes, Garnacho, Rashford.

    – Dortmund: Kobel, Ryerson, Süle, Hummels, Bensebaini, Reus, Can, Brandt, Malen, Haller, Adeyemi.

Several players from both teams are unavailable due to injuries or suspensions.
