Everton is reportedly in talks with Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga as the club considers a potential transfer. United has valued Elanga at £10 million due to his limited playing time, which has prompted the sale.

Previously, the 21-year-old Swedish international was close to joining Everton on loan during the January transfer window. However, the move was blocked by Manchester United on deadline day. Now, the situation has changed, and the Red Devils have put Elanga up for sale with a price tag of £10m. This decision comes after the player struggled to get minutes under manager Erik ten Hag.

The appointment of Sean Dyche as Everton manager shortly before the winter transfer deadline has kept the club’s interest in recruiting Elanga alive. Since his debut in 2021, Elanga has made 55 appearances for Manchester United and has scored four goals, with his last strike coming in February 2022. However, he has started only once in 2023 and has failed to make the matchday squad in 10 of the last 13 Premier League games.

It’s worth noting that Everton has a history of signing players from Manchester United, and their interest in Elanga aligns with this trend. Players like Tim Howard, Phil Neville, and Louis Saha have all made the journey from Manchester to Merseyside. Even United legend Wayne Rooney moved in the opposite direction in 2017, and most recently, Donny van de Beek left the Red Devils for a loan spell at Everton in 2022.

In January, other clubs like Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and PSV inquired about Elanga’s availability. However, no concrete offers were made and the talks fell through. It remains to be seen if the Swedish winger will secure a move in the summer as he seeks more playing opportunities.

As the transfer window progresses, there is excitement surrounding which players will make the most impact at their new clubs. Some notable signings include Jude Bellingham, Christopher Nkunku, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mason Mount, Sandro Tonali, and several others. The best signing of this transfer window will soon be decided, and the results will be shared.
