Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he has given a nickname to one of the club’s summer signings, Alexis Mac Allister. In an interview, Klopp mentioned that he has named the Argentine midfielder “Gary”, in homage to former Liverpool star Gary McAllister. McAllister was a key player for Liverpool from 2000-2002, winning three trophies in his first season with the club.

When asked about the choice of nickname, Klopp explained, “I was immediately thinking about nicknames and I thought it would be a great nickname for Alexis… Gary [McAllister]! He plays pretty good football, obviously, the same as [Dominik Szoboslai].”

Klopp also expressed his satisfaction with the performances of his two new midfield signings, Mac Allister and Szoboslai, during training. He mentioned, “I was pretty clear in the moment we signed them, the public reception was pretty good, internally it was outstanding. The boys know about football, so they were immediately like, ‘Oh my God…’ so that’s really good. Now they are here and didn’t take long to impress on the pitch as well, so that’s good.”

In terms of Liverpool’s future plans, there is uncertainty surrounding midfielders Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, who are considering moves to the Saudi Pro League. If they were to depart, Mac Allister and Szoboslai could be joined by additional new faces to strengthen Liverpool’s midfield.

The article also includes three photos of unknown content, most likely related to the mentioned players.

In a poll conducted by the article’s editors, readers are asked to vote for the best signing of the current transfer window. The options include Jude Bellingham, Christopher Nkunku, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mason Mount, Sandro Tonali, and an “Other” category. Results will be shared soon.
