Bukayo Saka admits that it was tough to accept the result against Manchester United on Saturday evening, regardless of it being a friendly match.
For the first time this pre-season, we were defeated 2-0, with both goals being scored in the first half at the MetLife Stadium. Saka emphasizes the importance of learning from this game before the official season begins next month.
After the match, Saka stated, “It’s obviously tough to take, whether it’s a friendly or not against United. We’ll learn from it and you can’t really give two goals away like that against a team like this because then it’s really hard to come back. We just need to learn from it.
“Physically, our goal is to reach the level we were at last season and then push ourselves further to another level. Tactically, we need to ensure that everyone is integrated into our game plan and understands how we play. We must progress in each match so that we are fully prepared for our first game.”
