Starbucks has temporarily closed several of its stores in Connecticut for renovations, and customers can expect these establishments to reopen in the coming weeks. Building work is currently underway inside the stores, some of which also have fencing outside. The locations that have been temporarily closed include:
– 255 E. Main St., in Bridgeport
– 995 Main St., in Newington
– 538 Boston Post Road, in Orange
– 1030 Barnum Ave., in Stratford
– 1090 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield
According to signs posted at the stores, the Stratford store is scheduled to reopen on July 21 or July 24, while the Bridgeport store is scheduled to reopen on Aug. 7. As of now, there are no signs providing reopening dates for the stores in Newington, Orange, and Wethersfield.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming you in our renewed store,” reads one of the signs at the Bridgeport store.
When contacted for comment, Starbucks, the world’s largest coffeehouse chain, did not immediately respond to inquiries regarding why it decided to renovate these particular stores and the extent of the improvements.
Alongside the store renovations, Starbucks is also expanding its presence in Connecticut. According to city officials, a new store on Bridgeport’s west side, located at 1705 Fairfield Ave., is expected to open next month. Additionally, a store at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks is scheduled to open later this year. In Stratford, the town’s Zoning Commission approved Starbucks’ plan for a store at 1220 Linden Ave., next to Interstate 95’s Exit 32.
As of April 2, Seattle-headquartered Starbucks had a total of 17,482 stores in North America. The company’s North American revenues increased by 17 percent year over year to $6.38 billion, with comparable store sales in the region rising by 12 percent.
