In a recent development, Joan Laporta has disclosed that Xavi Hernandez has urged Barcelona to sign a new right-back in the upcoming summer transfer window. This move aims to address a longstanding issue that has plagued the club for the past seven years. The search for a suitable candidate has led them to consider Pablo Maffeo, a player notorious for his battles with Vinicius Junior.
Maffeo, aged 26, has been strongly linked with a departure from Mallorca this summer. With the financial aspect in mind, he would prove to be an economically viable acquisition for the reigning LaLiga champions.
