IPOH – Datuk Lim Teong Kim, the former Perak FC coach, has stated that he will take his dispute over contract termination and wage demand to the Industrial Court if necessary. Teong Kim, who also served as the technical director for the Academi Mokhtar Dahari (AMD), revealed that the second mediation between himself and Perak FC administration, held at the Malaysian Industrial Relations Department (JPPM) of Perak, has given both parties until August 26th to resolve the issue.
Speaking at the Perak JPPM, Teong Kim said, “When the case reaches the court, all oral statements and documentation will be carefully examined and the court will make an appropriate decision.” He expressed his hope that the matter could be resolved amicably without court intervention.
Teong Kim had previously filed a representation with the Perak JPPM on June 27th, challenging the wrongful termination of his contract by Perak FC and demanding payment for the 16 remaining months of his salary. The claim was filed along with his lawyer, Adam Yap Boon Han, after being dismissed in May, despite only serving eight months of his 24-month contract with Perak FC.
Perak FC CEO Bobie Farid Shamsuddin stressed that the club respects Teong Kim’s rights and actions, but is prepared to go to court. He stated, “He (Teong Kim) has the right to do what he wants and we stand firm on our position. We have had two discussions and we will continue to move forward. We also want a peaceful resolution and the management will comply with the decision.”
