KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 — Tesla Malaysia is set to officially launch next week, and they have unveiled the official pricing for the Tesla Model Y for the local market. As reported by Paultan, the Tesla configurator for Malaysia is now available online, and the fully electric Model Y SUV starts at an impressive RM199,000. With a price tag below RM200,000 in Malaysia, not only is it cheaper than Singapore and Thailand, but Tesla has also made every other EV in our market seem expensive.
Tesla Model Y Malaysia pricing
The Tesla Model Y is available in three versions in Malaysia: a rear-wheel-drive model and two dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants. Here are the official prices in Malaysia:
• Rear Wheel Drive – RM199,000
• All-Wheel Drive Long Range – RM246,000
• All-Wheel Drive Performance – RM288,000
The incoming Tesla models are fully imported and currently enjoy EV incentives such as import and excise duty exemptions, as well as free road tax until the end of 2025. The road tax for EVs is being reviewed, and Transport Minister Anthony Loke recently stated that the road tax for EVs will be cheaper than that for internal combustion engine vehicles.

The Model Y comes in five colors: Pearl White, Solid Black, Midnight Silver Metallic, Deep Blue, and Red. Only the Pearl White option is available at no extra cost, while the other four colors require an additional RM5,000 top-up.
The configurator also offers extra upgrades and options for an additional fee. Upgrading from 19″ Gemini to 20″ Induction Wheels costs RM10,000, and you can change the interior from Black to White for an extra RM5,000.
If you want the optional tech upgrades, here are the prices in Malaysia:
• Enhanced Auto Pilot – RM16,000
