PETALING JAYA: Abdul Malik Dasthigeer, widely recognized as “Dato Malik”, is expected to be released on bail tomorrow morning, following his arrest by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission earlier today.
A close source to Malik informed FMT that he will be released at 8 am tomorrow. The source further added that Malik is currently in good condition and is fully cooperating with the anti-corruption agency.
According to the source, the MACC is handling the case in a professional manner.
Malik was taken into custody this morning under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Amla).
Malik is the esteemed founder and chairman of Malik Group of Companies, which includes Malik Streams Corporation Sdn Bhd, Malik Maju Sdn Bhd, Malik Streams Properties Sdn Bhd, Malik Streams Antenna Movies Sdn Bhd, and Malik Streams Production & Distribution.
His fame derives from his efforts in bringing renowned Indian performers to Malaysia for Tamil concerts.
