Tottenham secures the signing of winger Manor Solomon on a free transfer, as announced by the club on Tuesday. The Premier League side has agreed to a five-year deal with the 23-year-old player, who spent last season on loan at Fulham.
Manor Solomon, a free agent since his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk was suspended due to FIFA’s amendment of Annex 7 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, can now make a move to a new club. The regulation change grants foreign nationals employed in either country the right to unilaterally suspend their contracts.

FIFA’s recent decision to extend Annex 7 until the summer of 2024 has paved the way for Solomon’s transfer. Despite Shakhtar Donetsk’s chief executive threatening to sue Tottenham if they pursued the player on a free transfer, Solomon is now free to join his new club.
Having impressed during his loan spell at Fulham, where he made 24 appearances and scored five goals, there was interest from the club to retain the services of Israel winger Manor Solomon.
In addition to Solomon, Tottenham has been actively bolstering its squad this summer with the acquisitions of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison. Furthermore, loan deals for Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have been made permanent.
