Adobe Inc has announced the pricing details for its new generative artificial intelligence imaging tool, Firefly, which will be priced lower than OpenAI’s competing service.
Subscribers to Adobe’s creative software will receive a specific number of image generations included in their plans. To generate additional images without any delay, they will have to pay approximately 5 cents per creation.
This price is cheaper than OpenAI’s image-generating system Dall-E, which gained viral success last year, and charges around 13 cents per credit on the web. However, it is more expensive compared to Stability AI, which costs approximately 1 cent per generation.
The highest-tier subscription plan from Adobe will include 3,000 image generations per month. Firefly is accessible in various programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Express, as well as on its standalone website. Users can utilize the AI tool for free to generate 25 images per month.
As the long-standing market leader in creative software, Adobe believes that integrating AI into its widely-used products will provide it with an advantage over tools developed by startups. It has also positioned its AI offering as “commercially safe,” pledging to support customers who may face copyright claims in court. – Bloomberg
