TAIPEI (Reuters) – Foxconn Chairman Liu Young-way and Nvidia Corp CEO Jensen Huang announced on Wednesday that their companies are collaborating to build artificial intelligence (AI) factories.

The announcement was made by the two executives during Foxconn’s annual Tech Day event in Taipei.

This partnership between Foxconn, one of the world’s largest contract manufacturers, and Nvidia, a leading AI technology company, aims to leverage their respective expertise to harness the potential of AI in manufacturing.

The integration of AI into factory operations is expected to improve efficiency, increase automation, and enhance productivity. By deploying AI technologies, tasks that were previously manual and time-consuming can be automated, resulting in cost savings and improved precision.

Liu Young-way, Chairman of Foxconn, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “By joining forces with Nvidia, we have the opportunity to revolutionize the manufacturing industry and lead the way in AI-driven factories. We believe that this strategic partnership will enable us to unlock new possibilities and redefine the future of manufacturing.”

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, also emphasized the significance of the collaboration, saying, “Foxconn’s expertise in manufacturing combined with Nvidia’s AI technologies will enable us to develop state-of-the-art AI factories. We envision a future where AI plays a central role in transforming traditional manufacturing processes and driving innovation.”

AI-powered factories have the potential to revolutionize various industries, including electronics, automotive, and consumer goods. These advanced factories can optimize production lines, monitor quality control in real-time, and enable predictive maintenance by analyzing vast amounts of data.
