Germany’s network regulator has stated that it will examine radiation concerns regarding Apple’s iPhone 12 for the German market, if France’s investigation makes significant progress. The regulator added that the French procedure will serve as a guiding force for the rest of Europe.
Last Tuesday, France’s Agence Nationale des Frequences (ANFR) instructed Apple to cease iPhone 12 sales in France after tests revealed that the device’s Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which measures the radiofrequency energy absorbed by the body from a piece of equipment, exceeded the legally permitted limit.
“The Federal Network Agency is in close contact with the responsible authority in France,” stated the regulator to Reuters.
Over the past twenty years, numerous studies have been conducted to evaluate the health risks associated with mobile phone usage. According to the World Health Organisation, no adverse health effects have been definitively linked to mobile phone use.
