BENGALURU (Reuters) – India’s second-largest software services exporter Infosys has announced that it has signed a $1.5 billion contract with a global company. The contract is set to continue for a period of 15 years.
According to Infosys, the deal involves the provision of enhanced digital experiences and business operation services, with a focus on utilizing the company’s platforms and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The company made the announcement on Thursday, but did not disclose the name of the contracting company or confirm whether it is an existing client.
This development comes after U.S. chip maker Nvidia recently announced partnerships with Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries and the Tata group’s Tata Consultancy Services to collaborate on the development of generative applications using AI technology.
Infosys has been actively securing major deals in recent months. In July, the company signed a $2 billion deal with an existing client, focusing on the provision of AI and automation services over a duration of five years.
Despite these positive developments, Infosys’ stock performance remains mixed. The company’s shares have seen a marginal increase of 0.4%. However, when compared to the overall growth of the Nifty IT index, which has risen by 15.46% this year, Infosys’ stock has only managed to trim its losses to 0.1%.
With the continued expansion of the AI and digital sector, this contract represents a significant opportunity for Infosys to demonstrate its expertise in providing cutting-edge solutions to global clients. The company’s focus on leveraging AI technology and platforms further reinforces its commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in the software services industry.
