After letting users share Stories reserved for Close Friends, Instagram appears to be working on a new option to facilitate private posts on the platform. Seemingly, users will soon be able to share posts just with the people of their choice.
What if you could have a private News Feed on Instagram? According to online reports, the social network is working on a new option that would let users post content visible just to certain people. On X (formerly Twitter), the influencer marketing specialist, Lia Haberman, shared a screenshot of this new feature, available for the time being to selected users in the UK in trial form.
Instagram has already offered the option of sharing private content with certain friends on the app since 2018. In the Story format, the Close Friends option allows users to create a list of the users of their choice to share their Story with privately.
With this new option, users would therefore be able to post content on their News Feed intended for users included in their Close Friends list. This could be an interesting alternative for users with public profiles.
The Meta group’s social network has increasingly focused on improving the private side of its platform, as users share more content via private messages than in their News Feed.
Recently, Instagram also launched broadcast channels for creators. This type of content offers users with access to this new feature the chance to open a channel from their Instagram messenger to share information, without actually authorising followers to send messages in return. The latter can only respond to messages sent by the creator via emojis, by pressing and holding on the message in question. To access broadcast channels, however, you need to be following the creators in question. – AFP Relaxnews
