(Reuters) – Social media giant Meta Platforms announced on Wednesday that it is introducing generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools for all advertisers. These tools have the capability to generate content such as image backgrounds and variations of written text.
Meta began testing these AI tools in May with a limited group of advertisers in its “testing playground.” The tools will be accessible through Meta’s Ads Manager and are expected to be fully rolled out by the end of next year.
This marks Meta’s initial venture into incorporating generative AI technology into its products. By leveraging vast amounts of existing data, the company can now generate new content, including prose, art, and software code.
Last week, Meta also revealed that businesses will soon have the ability to utilize AI for business messaging on Messenger and WhatsApp, enhancing their interaction with customers.
The Meta AI portfolio includes “Llama 2,” a language model, as well as a chatbot named Meta AI. These AI tools can produce text responses and photorealistic images.
Meta Platforms’ decision to include generative AI technology in its products highlights the company’s commitment to innovation and providing advertisers with cutting-edge tools to enhance their content creation process.
With the implementation of AI tools, advertisers will be able to produce unique and engaging content at a faster pace, enabling them to target their desired audience effectively.
The integration of AI within Meta’s platforms demonstrates the company’s dedication to staying ahead in the ever-evolving digital advertising landscape.
By leveraging generative AI technology, Meta can tap into its vast database of past data to generate new and captivating content, helping advertisers maintain a competitive edge.
Meta’s continuous development and expansion of AI-driven features showcase its aspiration to revolutionize the way advertisers interact with their target audiences.
