If you’ve recently received a warning message on your smartphone screen inviting you to uninstall the Google application because it’s dangerous, then don’t panic, it’s just a bug, and fortunately it’s easy to fix.

“Google appears to be malware and poses a high risk. Immediate uninstallation is advised.” This message, if it appears on your Android smartphone, should not be taken seriously. In fact, it’s the result of a bug that can be easily corrected once the warning has been ignored.

It only concerns Chinese-brand smartphones, in this case those made by Huawei, Honor, and Vivo. The root of the issue is the Huawei Optimization application, which mistakenly considers the Google application as malware.

In short, it’s a false alarm. To avoid getting this message again, you need to go to your smartphone’s settings, then to its applications, and more specifically to Huawei Optimization. Next, clear your cache and you shouldn’t be bothered again.

Rest assured, the genuine Google application currently represents no danger whatsoever to your smartphone. – AFP Relaxnews
