The case is scheduled to be heard in the Shanghai intellectual property court on October 10.

According to the report, Bingling Intelligent Technology is a chip designer and auto parts maker based in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. The lawsuit accuses the company of violating Tesla’s technology secrets and engaging in unfair competition practices.

Chinese business data platform Tianyancha revealed that Bingling is partly owned by a Xiaomi investment fund unit, with Xiaomi holding an 11.9% stake in the company.

This legal action by Tesla Shanghai reflects the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and fair competition in the growing Chinese market. As Tesla expands its presence in China, it faces an increasing need to safeguard its proprietary technologies from potential infringement.

In recent years, intellectual property disputes have become more common in the technology sector, as companies compete for market dominance in innovative fields such as electric vehicles. Lawsuits involving tech secret infringement and unfair competition are becoming more frequent as companies attempt to gain an advantage in this highly competitive industry.

The Shanghai intellectual property court, specialized in handling intellectual property cases, will preside over the lawsuit, ensuring a fair adjudication process. The court’s expertise in this field allows for a comprehensive evaluation of the evidence and a just resolution of the dispute.

Both Tesla Shanghai and Bingling Intelligent Technology will have the opportunity to present their arguments and provide evidence to support their claims. The court will carefully analyze the facts presented and make a ruling based on legal principles and precedents.
